This is my sixth year teaching at Lakeview Elementary, and I love it here!  Before Lakeview I taught 2nd grade in a long-term substitute position in North Liberty, and a long-term substitute Kindergarten position as well.  I have taught 2nd grade and 1st grade here at Lakeview.  I love what I do and can't imagine doing anything else for my career!

 

I currently live in Iowa City, but I was born and raised in the Chicago suburb of Hinsdale, Illinois (15 miles southwest of the city).  I went to the University of Iowa and have been here every since. My family all lives back in Chicago so I visit frequenty to see them... and to catch a few Chicago Blackhawks games!! I LOVE to travel - this summer we went to South Africa for a safari and great white shark diving! I also enjoy spending time with friends, going out to eat, and doing yoga.

 

There's nothing more rewarding than watching first graders grow as learners. It is my goal to help students foster a love of learning, and become life-long learners after leaving my classroom.
